Cross Stitch Collectibles has finally made a pattern for my favorite M.C. Escher picture.

Why don't you get the Escher now, and after you've done that 40,000 plus stitch effort you can think about whether or not you want to tackle the much larger one. (Whether it'd be insanity or not I can't say, but it would be a gawdawful lot of work.)
