We got the house! The one we really wanted, the one on Park[1]. I called and left a gushing message last night ("We're so excited about the house! We really love it! I just wanted to let you know to expect our rental application first thing in the morning!"), and that seems to have done the trick. When I spoke to one of the landlords this morning she said, "We love our house, and we wanted to give it to someone who we knew would really appreciate it - so we were so excited to get your message last night."

So we'll be moving in the second half of June. Yaay! Everyone has to come visit us.

[1] Address in previous post belatedly obscured for privacy reasons, which also meant screening a comment. No personal slight intended to the poster of the screened comment, who I think will soon be my neighbor.
