It's so dark outside that I can't see anything on the other side of the street but the neon-yellow posts that hold up parking meters. Occasional flashes of lightning illuminate the cars that are excused from being towed only because the meter readers don't care to work when it's sheeting down rain.

And here I am at work without my umbrella.

curiousangel, blessedly, is home from his trip, off work today, and willing to pick me up and take me to my water aerobics class - which is likely to be a drier activity than standing on the corner waiting for the bus.

Updated to add: Now I can't see the parking meter posts.

Whew! We haven't had a storm like that here in quite a while. I'm glad Michael will be able to pick you up (although ghu knows *I* wouldn't want to drive in that kind of rain!).

misia and I played with the dog when it wasn't raining quite so hard, in the Canton Dog Park. We were caught in the previous downpour (Monday?), about as far from home as possible during a standard dog walk, so about 3.5 blocks from home. Since the rain was warm, we giggled the whole way at our foolishness in thinking it would go away. When we got home, we weren't completely soaked (or I wasn't). My wallet was still dry, but everything else was wet wet wet.

It was fun. People thought we were crazy.
