We've got no phone and no Internet, and no hope of improvement until at least Monday, when Verizon is sending out a technician to look at our line.

The people next door were working in their backyard yesterday, doing something that involved hammering and sawing. My guess is that they brought our phone line down. I know, I know, that's not something that should ordinarily happen - but the haphazard, low-slung tangle of phone lines connecting through the local backyards has to be seen to be believed.

I'm at work right now. I had planned to get a bunch of work done over the weekend, and all of my files were perched happily on the e-mail server waiting for me to get to them. Oops.

must be the day for verizon woes. our dsl cut out sometime between noon and 4pm. the frontline tech tried to blame it on my network card. no go. i wasn't going to be deflected that easily. i'm in the industry and i know it wasn't that. asked to speak to a supervisor who researched further and confirmed an issue with something at the central office. it should be fixed within 24-48 hours. dialing into the work line until then. ugh.

I'm going to be rid of Verizon in a week or so! My BPL (Broadband over Power Lines) finally went green this week so I'm going to cancel the landline I'd been using for dialup before the end of this cycle.

I've seen those lines over the backyard, and have no trouble believing something took them down. Poor you!
