Jul. 6th, 2007 10:58 pmAmazon.com shipped me a package on the 30th of June. After I placed the order, they sent me an apologetic e-mail saying that I might not get my item until July 12th, and giving me a link to track the package.
On July 2, the USPS tracking system showed that my package was "in transit" at Capitol Heights, Maryland. I snickered, remembering Amazon's apology about the "delay." Did they really think it would take ten days to get here from Capitol Heights?
On July 3, the USPS tracking system showed that my package left Capitol Heights to travel the lengthy distance to Baltimore.
That was the last update. The days keep ticking by, with no package and no new information in the tracking system.
I now actually begin to believe that my package may take ten days to get to me, from Capitol Heights Maryland. Thirty-five miles away.
Sheesh.

Date: 2007-07-10 07:21 pm (UTC)The original package eventually turned up back at Amazon with a claim of 'invalid address' or some such. I know nothing about Capitol Heights, MD, but I have very little faith in their postal system.
