Snowpocalypse Now!

24 inches of snow in the garden, drifting in places to more than 36. Even the semi-protected walkway between our house and next door has 20 inches of snow in it.

It's still falling.

Is the snow solid enough for tunneling? I remember being able to do that when I was a kid during the Blizzard of '77 and it was THE BEST.

I remember that too. IT WAS AMAZING! I was 4 years old and there were parts of snow tunnels in Riverside Park (NYC) that were completely enclosed. I'll never forget how the light looked inside a snow tunnel.

That must have been the year my Dad made us a snow slide in a curbside pile left by the plow + shovelers. You climbed up to the top and slid through a curving tunnel to the bottom. It was AMAZING.
