(Belatedly...) Thanks for the recommendation! We went with Sarabeth's, and if the jar that was opened while we were there is any indication, ohmygod that stuff is good.
Have you ever seen 6 Degrees of Seperation by John Guare?
"You know what Rich People really like? Jam!"
"Really?"
"Really! If you want to say thank you to a Rich Person, send them a pot of jam! Raspberry... or.. strawberry. With a little red checked cloth on top of it. They love that."
Sadly, I don't know where to get jam online. I tend to either make it, or trade for it. In NYC I have a favorite jam, but I can't remember it's exact name except that I know it when I see it, and it comes in a mason jar.
Wow. THat was useless, but possibly entertaining at least...
Wegmans, but I go to Wegmans for damn near anything related to food. Williams-Sonoma has a nice fancy spreads selection, as does Sur La Table (if there's one in your area).
Beth's Farm Kitchen (http://www.bethsfarmkitchen.com/categories.asp). Beth is a friend of my husband's family, so we've gotten a bunch of things from them. Very tasty, especially the chutneys, and she hires a lot of poor NYC kids to run the stands at the farmer's market and help with production.
I haven't used the site before; it looks a little rough. But the product is great.
It took a long time for me to figure out what this response was related to. "I didn't use my penguin userpic on this post! What...?" Finally the penguin dropped: new journal style! Indeed. I love the chubby little penguins.
I'd give a call to Ma Petite Shoe in Hampden, I thought I remember seeing jam there (heck, if all else fails, buy them some Vosges chocolates!). I'm not sure what's being offered at the Waverly or downtown markets. Maybe check out Belvedere Square and see what everyone's offering? Especially Neopol or Atwater's.
Oh, hadn't noticed the K. and B signoffs. Thought you were just talking to yourself (one person) waiting for external meatloaf validation or something. :-)
When we first created our LJ, we didn't always sign our posts, which was confusing for a number of people. Even more interesting, our Friends say they can't always tell who wrote what.
No real web presence, but they send all sorts of exotic stuff out by mail, and would probably be happy to help you over the phone. And there's got to be some sort of cachet to an international delivery.
A visit to their store is not to be missed if you're in the neighbourhood.

In fact, this is for a Christmas present for rich people. Rich people we share very few interests with. But they like jam!

Click on Products and then Jams and Jellies. The Estate Select Naturals are impressive.
My own favorite is [are?] the Pineapple Preserves.
You just pay shipping from Chicago.

Then Bellow Yellow Chutney is also good.
Maybe I'll place an order. I'm down to my last jar of Blazing Tomato Chutney: the best thing in the world to put on meatloaf.

I sense a theme in your comments here
Maybe I'll pick up some ground beef and stuff and make one myself; don't think I've had any since October.
